Jack and Jill

Movie info
A family man is forced to deal with his twin sister from the Bronx comes to Los Angeles for a visit - then won't leave.

Review:
Holiday movies are rarely going to be Oscar-winning works of art. And if you approach Adam Sandler's latest creation Jack and Jill with the view that it's bubblegum for the eyes, you won't be too disappointed.

Sandler stars in both the lead roles: as advertising agency executive Jack Sandelstein and his twin sister Jill.

The paper-thin storyline centres around the adult twins and their fractious relationship. When Jill comes to stay with Jack and his wife Erin (Katie Holmes) for Thanksgiving, all hell breaks loose as she laments her luck in the love department and her strained relationship with her brother.

Bizarrely, the main plot of the movie is about Jack trying to lure Al Pacino into one of his commercials. Pacino stars throughout and it jars a little to see such an actor of his calibre in such a flimsy role.

Even Adam Sandler fans will feel let down by Jack and Jill. It's certainly no Wedding Singer, and the jokes are few and far between. By far the most intriguing part of the movie are the opening and ending credits, where real twins are interviewed and give some hilarious insights.

If you're a lover of slapstick and find men dressing (very badly) as women amusing, this may hold your attention.
